Return-To-Work Metrics
In 2021, the Canadian government's 'GCworkplace' has been put to the test as agencies respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and ensure that their facilities are responding to constantly changing occupancy and technology requirements. Agencies across Canada are looking to develop additional reporting capabilities with Archibus dashboards and notifications. Bokusashi has developed multiple dashboards for agencies, providing them a means to take decisive action in response to changing occupancy and capacity and helping them analyze top-of-mind data related to their workforce: those working from home, in the office, with a height-adjustable desk, needing a temporary office or meeting, etc. The goal being a safe return-to-work...or at least a 'return-to-the-new-normal'.
BIM to Digital Twin
2021 continues to see a growth in companies adopting Building Information Modeling (BIM) into their facilities operations. Communication and collaboration is the keystone of BIM, but the challenge for owners and operators is knowing what to communicate. Constructing a building and developing a 'digital twin' require a significantly different use of the building information model. By May, Bokusashi had enabled Archibus/Autodesk clients in Tokyo, Bucharest, Toronto, and Buenos Aires to communicate requirements for their facilities or 'record' models and to take steps toward their goal of the 'digital twin.'
COVID Occupancy Planning
In 2020, a Canadian property management organization requested training on Archibus' space and AutoCAD extension products as part of its "return to work" planning during the COVID pandemic. The company's stated goal was to allow employees to reserve work spaces using floor plans originally designed in AutoCAD. The training helped the project team meet that goal, and additionally, enabled space planners to develop a target floor occupancy of 25%, flag work spaces that have height-adjustable desks, create layouts with socially-distanced work spaces, plan potential employee assignments in anticipation of a future 'return to work', and capture information about service and other areas that had been historically ignored.
Cell Tower and Site Management
In 2020, a middle-eastern construction and project management provider specializing in cell site management requested Archibus expertise while selling to a prospective site management company. While working with the provider to develop a proof-of-concept, including a building information model (BIM) integration of a cell site, Bokusashi delivered presentations in 2 successive rounds (of the sales cycle), helping the provider make it to the final two.
IFRS Lease Accounting
In 2020, after merging multiple locations onto a single Archibus system, a North-American insurance organization was looking to consolidate their lease accounting reporting while conforming to the latest IFRS and FASB lease accounting standards. The organization requested consulting on how best to record and interpret lease financials in the Archibus system. After the consulting engagement, the organization was able to record lease financials within the constraints of the software and produce financial reporting to meet expected output.
